The Rolex Submariner Reference 5513 is the embodiment of the classic dive watch. The 5513 is simple yet sophisticated and rugged. The Ref. 5513 was first introduced in the 1962 and ceased production in late 1989. The Ref. 5513 is a purpose-built dive watch that lacks the date function like other Rolex Submariner models. 

The last of the ref. 5513 Submariners produced were adorned with a serial number beginning with an "L", otherwise known as "L serials". These 5513's were the last of the legendary reference that so many iconic people wore and loved. These watches today have become highly desirable as they are the bookend to one of the longest-running and most appreciated references Rolex has ever produced. During this time only very few 5513's made it off the production line as Rolex was preparing to introduce the ref. 5513's successor, the ref. 14060 Submariner.

CASE & BRACELET

The wonderful case retains strong factory finishing with chamfers down each lug and is believed to remain unpolished with honest signs of use. The bezel insert has achieved a beautiful navy blue coloration and retains its pearl at the 12 o'clock position. The case back is stamped 5512, which is correct for this era. The later Rolex 93150 Oyster bracelet with 580 end pieces is in excellent unpolished condition, retains 11 links, and shows light stretch from use.

DIAL & HANDS

The glossy black dial with white gold surround markers is in immaculate condition, showing no signs of age or wear. The tritium markers have taken on a charming ivory patina and exhibit no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly, Under U.V. light inspection there is some minor cracking in the lume within the hour hand post which remains stable, otherwise the hands show no degradation.
