The Rolex Day-Date is one of the most iconic and beautiful watches in the Rolex catalog. The Rolex Day-Date earned the nickname "President" after it had been rumored that President a Dwight Eisenhower began wearing one.  In reality, Eisenhower wore a Rolex 18K yellow gold Oyster Perpetual Datejust which Rolex gifted to him in 1950. However the nickname President stuck and is quite fitting for the Day-Date as Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, Ford, Reagan, Nixon and Roosevelt, all wore the Rolex Day-Date model.  It has always been a symbol of status and luxury as the Rolex Day-Date is only made in precious metals most commonly 18k yellow gold and possesses both the day and date complications within the movement. 

This specific example from 1964 retains its original pie pan dial has taken on a warm and pleasing patina with all the lume dots at the hour markers remaining intact which like the dial have also taken on a stunning and sought after patina This specific Rolex Ref 1803 would make a wonderful and uniquely stunning addition to an existing collection and or be a great stand-alone executive piece for those with a discerning eye.

Stunning 18K YG case that previously been polished and has light wear from use. the watch will come on a handmade leather strap.

DIAL & HANDS

The original silver dial remains intact showing a warm patina which adds to teh vintage look and feel of this specific piece. the day wheel is in English and teh date wheel displays era-specific and correct 6's and 9's. The tritium lume dots remain intact and have achieved a golden patina that matches the tritium filled hands. When inspected under UV light both the lume dots and hands show minimal degradation and remain intact!
